Rebecca Holland

Living and working in the open hills above the ocean on the edge of the redwoods inspires my art. I have been sketching in pencil and painting in oil since I was a small child; I was fascinated with the paintings of the European masters and studied their fine detail and their use of paint to capture light. Self-taught, but always learning directly from observation and experimentation has been my path. I have painted in Hawaii, the Southwest, the Sierra, and wherever I travel, but my I am best known for painting the light in the redwood forest here where I have ivied for over 60 years. It is important to me to personally meet the people who make that important decision of choosing my art for their homes. I belong to a Co-Op gallery, the Coastal Arts League Gallery in Half Moon Bay.
